WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

To blog or not to blog? That seems to be one of the hottest questions among writers these days, and as you may imagine, some writers are all for it, while others are against it. Having no real position one way or the other myself, however, I decided to ask my newsletter subscribers what they thought. All those who responded to my question about my starting a blog were all for it. I found myself both flattered and bemused by that---flattered that my newsletter subscribers, at least, wanted to read a blog written by me, and bemused as to why they would. You see, for the most part, I actually live a relatively quiet life, so I can't think what I'm going to tell you in this blog. That I spent several hours writing today (or simply staring at my computer screen, waiting for my muse to waken)? That doesn't sound very exciting, does it? So this probably won't be a blog that's updated daily, but, rather, one I'll post to weekly for the time being, just to see how it goes. At any rate, I've managed to get this blog up and running. So here it is. Welcome, and enjoy!

Hi, Rebecca.
Glad you have moved with the times!
I simply cannot believe your blog will not be interesting. We all live in different worlds and what is seemingly boring to you could be exciting to others.
For example, we can't all meet Prince Charming on the Internet, marry in England, honeymoon in Paris .....
Looking forward to the next post!

Thank you, Vancouver Island. You are certainly right about everyone's life being interesting in different ways. My husband, John, and I did meet on the Internet, and I know that several other writers have met their own spouses this way, too. The Internet has really changed the way we do a lot of things these days, hasn't it?

I'd like to suggest that, in order to avoid staring at your screen, you offer your opinions on this blog. Anything on writing, particular trends in the genre, how you shape characters in your books, etc. Discuss what you feel is most important in character appeal, the necessity of epilogs and/or whether maps, house layouts, and family trees should be included in books. There are many other topics, of course, but this would certainly get you started.
Incidentally, I think you have one of the most intruiging web sites around. It's great!

I'm glad you enjoy my Web site, River's edge, IL! I had a great deal of fun creating and designing it, and I still enjoy working on it. And thank you, also, for all your great suggestions! I hope this blog will eventually evolve into something of a weekly diary, combined with my own thoughts about writing and how I write.

Rebecca...I had to post here and tell you that I loved the Nine Fold Key. The plot was wonderful and I was held spell bound until the last page. I have read your books for years, and was never so happy as to find that you had a new release out.

P.S. I love your website! Wonderful concept!

Michelle...I'm so glad you enjoyed reading THE NINEFOLD KEY! I adored writing it, because I had the chance to do so many things that were both different and challenging. I'm also glad you've enjoyed touring my castle! Please come back again soon!
