SHALL WE DANCE?

I confess: I haven't watched network television for years. But ABC finally managed to get my attention when they began broadcasting Dancing With the Stars.

I adore ballroom dancing. I wish I knew how to do it, and one of these days, I'm going to talk my husband, John, into taking lessons with me. We did take a series of classes in which we started learning the Jitterbug and the West Coast Swing. But with one thing after another, after the first session of several weeks ended, we didn't have time to continue with the next.

But the truth is that I'd rather learn how to Rumba, Samba, and do all the other dances the stars of Dancing With the Stars have entertained their audience with these past weeks (are you listening, John? *g*).

I'd seen several of the professional dancers perform before. But it was fun to watch the stars as they progressed during their training. Like everyone else who tuned in, I had my own favorites. But I'll have to admit that, in the end, it would have been difficult for me to choose just one couple over all the others. They all had their strengths and weaknesses, and it was a close contest.

Tonight was the show's grand finale. Congratulations to the winners, Kelly and Alec! And thanks to John and Charlotte, Joey and Ashly, Rachel and Jonathan, Evander and Edyta, and Trista and Louis, too. They were all a great deal of fun to watch, and I enjoyed all their performances.
